Overview of The Phoenix Country Club

The Phoenix Country Club is a seaside course located on the face of the Hyuganada sea. The course is formed with 27 holes including the Sumiyoshi course, Nichinan course and the Takachiho course. For the tournament, 9 holes of the Takachiho course are used as the front nine, and the Sumiyoshi course as the back nine.

The course, oversewed with perennial ryegrass is kept in beautiful condition during the tournament period, as if it is one of the courses on PGA tour.

On the other hand, large pine trees, unique strong winds and delicate undulations await the contestants, making it a difficult course to conquer.

<Tee Ground expanded for Hole 13>

From this year, the tee ground for Hole 13 has been expanded by 5-6 yards to the right. It may depend on the tee-up position, but with the expansion, the pine tree ahead is expected to be less obstructive when aiming for the green.

<Last year's percentage of players aiming the green from tee> Day 1: 32%, Day 2: 45%, Day 3: 20%, Day 4: 46.7%
